Local Competitions
In order to compete for the title of Miss Iowa or Miss Iowa’s Teen, one must first compete in and win a local competition.
Local competitions are held at different locations around the state from July through March/April to qualify for the state competition, which is held in June. In Iowa, all locals are considered “open” competitions, meaning that as long as you qualify to compete in the state of Iowa, you are able to compete at any local, regardless of the city/county in which you live.
