We welcome young women of all backgrounds, experiences, and goals.

Do I Need Experience?

Not at all.

Many of our contestants are stepping onto a pageant stage for the very first time, and that’s exactly why this program exists.

You don’t need:

  • Prior pageant experience

  • Coaching

  • A perfect resume

Just a willingness to learn, grow, and try something new.

How It Works

Getting started is simple, and we’ll guide you every step of the way.

Register

Begin by subscribing to the Miss America system to become an eligible contestant.

Compete at a Local

Enter and compete in a local competition held throughout Iowa. This is where your journey begins.

Step 2

Earn Your Title

Win a local title to qualify for the state competition.

Step 3

Advance to Miss Iowa

Local titleholders move on to compete at the Miss Iowa or Miss Iowa’s Teen Competition, held each year in June.

Step 4

Competing is about so much more than winning a crown. It’s an opportunity to:

Through the Miss Iowa organization, contestants use their voice, share their story, serve their communities, and inspire others, all while pursuing their educational and career goals.
