Lydia Fisher, 14, Miss Muscatine's Outstanding Teen, won the title of Miss Iowa’s Outstanding Teen 2017.  Lydia attends Wapello Community Jr/Sr. High School in Wapello, Iowa.

Lydia is a 7-time Bill Riley Talent Search semi-finalist at the Iowa State Fair; Bill Riley Sprout Champion at the Iowa State Fair 2016; Dancer of the Year at Cheryl’s School of Dance 2016; Invention Convention Champion; National Grand Champion in the Character Counts Essay Writing Contest; Club basketball and softball; and plays the piano at church.

Some of her accomplishments include: Honor Roll all report card periods; one of two students chosen for the Talented and Gifted Program at my school; Student of the Month; Presidential Physical Fitness Award; Outstanding Student for Family and Consumer Science; Academic Excellence in English, Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies, Computer Science, and Art; Academic Gold Medal (4.0 GPA).

♦  A Miss Iowa’s Outstanding Teen contestant must be between the ages of 13 and 17 years old.
